Get to know neighbours at picnic

Howick and Pakuranga Times, 29 Jan 2010

PEOPLE are invited to a picnic in the park to get to know others in their neighbourhood.

The picnic and barbecue, organised by the Botany/Flat Bush Health and Social Club, is being held on Saturday, February 20, at Barry Curtis Park.

One of the organisers, Botany Community Board member Roy Bootle, says: “Come along and join in. Meet your neighbours and have some fun in the sun.”

The picnic is supported by the Botany/Flat Bush Residents Association, Neighbourhood Support and the Friendship Club, and local churches St Paul’s, St Luke’s, the Salvation Army and Botany Community Life.

Mr Bootle says there will be music performances, including the singers and the orchestra of St Luke’s, and the theme of the day is “entertain and be entertained”.

The fun runs from 3-7pm, with a rain date of February 21 – take a plate of food to share.
