Neighbourhood Support New Zealand received conditional funding from the Ministry of Justice for the period from 1 July 2011 to 30 June 2012.

As part of the funding agreement Neighbourhood Support New Zealand agreed to hold a contestable funding round and allocate funding to affiliated Neighbourhood Support Groups.

Successful groups were those whose applications addressed the following objectives:

  • Empower communities e.g. Emergency Preparedness projects
  • Reduce crime
  • Reduce fear of crime
  • Increase safety and/or perception of safety in the community
  • Help address existing and emerging community needs and issues

A breakdown of grants by district is listed below along with an overview of the geographical spread :
